This is a pretty straight forward review because what can you really say about a pillow that you can compress? I picked up the 14″ by 18″ Medium pillow. Primarily, I focused on getting a compact pillow that could be used for camping and for air travel. This pillow fits the bill to a T! I used this pillow a lot when Hope and I went on our Maine Trip.
You will want to wash and dry the pillow when you get it. I read enough reviews online that recommended this. After the initial wash, I just fluff the pillow for 30 to 45 seconds and it’s fluffed enough for me. If you’ve got the time to fluff it and then let it sit for 30 minutes or so it gets to a really nice supportive size. When you are finished you just roll the pillow up tightly and stuff it back into the attached pouch. It’s really that simple!
Assuming you travel for work like Matt, as in you take the bare minimum to get the job done, the Therm-a-Rest pillow is amazing for travel. You can leave it rolled up and have a really nice neck support or you can fluff it out and have a pillow. Easy enough concept, right! There are so many airports and plane seats that are transformed to wonderful spots because of something as simple as a pillow.
Why would I keep writing about something that is so straightforwardly simple? Because I love this thing because you’ve got two ways to use it. Unroll the pillow, fluff it, and you’ve got a great little pillow to sleep or rest on. Leave it rolled up and you’ve got a very firm support rest. Either way, it’s a fantastic little piece of gear that is light enough to be put in your pack.
